Liege, Locator LG March 25, 2006

This locator stands at the north of one of the runways of the airfield. In 2004 we searched in vain for this locator beacon. But we where nearer to it as we thought that time.
Wim has a quality that is very usable for beacon hunting. If he doesn’t find it the first time, then he tries to find it another time. After taken a picture at Kleine Brogel there was time left to go to Luik (Liege). At the E42 near to the airfield he saw the VOR/DME just before the exit to the airport. And so he came to the other side of this VOR/DME beacon and there was also this Locator.

Follow at the ring-road around Luik (Liege) the signs to the airport. If you come from the south go to the north of the airfield. There you will find the roundabout where the exit from the E42 coming from the north ends. Coming from the north, take at the roundabout the first exit. This road, going parallel along the E42 to the north, leads to an industrial zone. Follow this road until you come to a T-crossing. Go there to the left. You will come behind a military plant (left) and right the industrial zone. As soon as you passed the military buildings you will see both beacons.

Both beacons are on the military plant. There are no signs that its not allowed to make pictures, the fence is broken, but you better not pas the fence.
