Evert van Beek and Ben Korbeeck went at the start of 2008 to Parkalompolo in Sweden to listen to far away radio stations. Evert heard in two weeks ca. 550 beacons. For a change of surrounding, the went to the airfield of Pajala to see the locator beacon PAJ. This way we got another beacon to put on this site.
The beacon is located ca. 7 km west of the runway on a line going the same direction as the runway.
The route from Pajala as by Google Earth:
1. Start in south-west direction on Torggatan to Medborgarvägen (83 m)
2. o further on Soukolovägen (0.2 km)
3. Turn right at 99/Genvägen. Go further on the 99 (6.5 km)
4. Go further on 395 (11.8 km)
5. Turn right (1.6 km)
6. Turn right (1.4 km)
This route goes along the airfield.
