Bovingdon VOR/DME BNN, 4 July 2005.

We came from Tring using the A41 and took the exit at Bourne End signed Hemel Hempstead. Just before the road goes under the A41 you turn right, to Bovingdon. This road is the B4505. Go straight through Bovingdon, after you have passed Bovingdon, the road bends to the right. Here you find the entrance to the former airfield. It's now a kind of racing circuit. Unfortunately, we didn't get permission to enter the airfield to make pictures.
We followed the road and at the spot where the road bends to the left we took the road that goes straight on. At the T-junction - Whelpley Hill - go right. Almost immediately there is a sharp bend to the left; we parked our car on the grass on the right side of the bend. You can see a public footpath that start near the gate of the farm. Follow this footpath and soon you will see the field with this beacon.
