Amboise VOR/DME AMB, August 2nd 2009

Amboise. Here are two beacons with the name AMB. Not far from each other at the way the crow flies – ca 2km.
There is a hill with some forest in between. Therefore it takes about the double distance to go from one to the other by car.

Route from BLB to AMB (VOR), ca 42 km – 50 min.
Start at airfield Le Breuil in the direction of the D26 and turn right onto the D26. After 3.5 km you turn right onto the D26/Rue de la Moinerie and you drive on the D26 for 6.2 km. With an easy bent to the right you turn onto the D766/’Place de 11 Novembre et de 8 Mai’ and you follow the road 500 metres. Then with an easy bent left you turn onto the D107/Rue de Blémars. Drive 4.6 km and with an easy bent to the left go onto D1/D65/Place de résistance. After 7.5 km you turn left to stay at the D1 and after 2.5 km turn right to stay at the D1, Rue Gustave Marc. Go straight at one roundabout and after 2.5 km turn right onto the D751/Rue de Maréchal Leclerc. Drive on the D751 – going along the Loire – for 11.6 km. Then turn left onto the D80/Rue de la Loire and you find the beacon after 1.9 km at the RHS.
