Châteauxdun VOR/DME CAD, August 1th 2009 Châteauxdun VOR/DME CAD, August 1th 2009Not far from Châteauxdun along the D955 to Orleans you find an airbase. At this airbase you can find a NDB and a VOR/DME. As often is done in France, there is an embankment right behind the fence to stop persons passing by to see what’s going on at the airbase.
The VOR/DME is to find the embankment that’s running along the D955 Châteauxdun-Orleans near to the Orleans end. When going along the corner you can see the beacon. But remember, they are mostly not happy when people are walking around the base with a camera. And the buildings opposite are also belonging to the base.
