Locator CC, Chalon-s-Saône, January 29th 2006

A beacon hunter need some luck. Like with this locator beacon. On a journey back from Orange to the Netherland we came to a halt on the toll road. My 'driver' [;-)] asked if there wasn't a beacon somewhere a side of the road. Inspecting the map showed us that it must be somewhere in the neighbourhood. So I took receiver and cassette recorder to make a sound recording. The receiver got a strong signal, so the locator had to be near. At that moment the cars started moving again. With the camera ready we passed a viaduct and just along the road over that viaduct was the locator. So it was very lucky that we had to drive slowly, or else I couldn't make those picture. The beacon is located near to the A6 in between Tournus and Chalon, at the east side of the road. You can get closer using the N6 from Chalon Sud direction Tournus. At Verrennes-le-Grand you take the D6 direction Messey-s-Grosne. Just before the viaduct over the A6 you find the locator at the RHS.
