Cambray (Epinoy) VOR/TAC CMB, 31 May 2006 Cambray (Epinoy) VOR/TAC CMB, 31 May 2006 This beacon is located at the north side of the military airfield at Epinoy.
From Cambrai we drove along the D939 (Arras) until at Marquion.
There we turned right onto the D15.
After ca. 1 kilometre we turned right again, direction Epinoy via the D21E1.
Three kilometres further on you will see the VOR/TAC at the RHS in the fields.
Use the roads in between the fields to get near to the beacon.
Benoît Leveque has send us a mail that this airport stopped to be a militairy base in 2012.
AIP France tels us in september 2012 in the ENR 4.1--1 list that this beacon now is a VOR/DME.
Benoît Leveque did send two recent photos of this beacon with some changes made at the antenna casing.
This year I did visit France with Wim. Cambray was on our route and after our email contacts with Benoît we decided to make a visite at the beacon.. What we did see where two beacons. First thoughts ware it would be the old VOR/TAC and the new VOR/DME but we studied the photos and dit see that thats not the fact.
Benoît did send us an email to tell us there is a new DVOR/DME build. And of course he has made us some nice pictures of it.
