Evreux Fauville VOR EVX, July 31st 2009

This VOR is at a military airbase and in France that means often lots of fences and banks to make sure you don’t see what’s on the base. After circling a lot around the base, Miss Mio did give an idée where the beacon was located; Wim came again at a road that ended at a gate belonging to the airbase. But this time Wim had some luck: he could see the beacon. Wim made quickly a sound recording and made some photos sitting in the car.

Route from Evreux to EVX, ca 6km – 8min.
Start in direction east on the N13/Route de Paris to Rue Arianne and follow the N13 – go straight at one roundabout – for 1.3 km. At the roundabout after passing the N154 take exit 5 and stay at the N13, back to Evreux Centre/Rouen. After 400 metres turn right onto the N154 and follow the N154 for 1.3 km. Take exit for D57 direction Fauville and after 400 metres turn right onto D57/Route de Vernon (signs for Fauville/D57.) After 400 metres turn left onto D57 Route de Huest and drive on this road for 1 km.
Turn right and after ca 400 metres you can see the beacon EVX at the LHS.
