Barmen VOR/TACAN/DME BAM, June 5, 2008.

The information we have stated that there must be a VOR/TACAN/DME and a NDB at the location Barmen. All we found was the VOR combiaftertion.

Route from Remscheid.
Take the A1 in the direction of Dortmund, follow this road for ca. 16.5 km. Take exit 92-Wuppertal-Nord direction A46/Düsseldorf/Wuppertal. Go left (follow signs to A46/Düsseldorf/Wuppertal). Follow this road. After 1.6 km at the A46 take exit 37-Wuppertal-Oberbarmen direction W.-Oberbarmen. Turn after 200 m left unto L432/Mollenkotten (signs to Barmen), stay on this road for 2.5 km. Take at the roundabout at Nächstebreck-west the 1st turn to Barmer Straße/L924, stay on this road for 4,4 km. In a gentle curve to the left onto the Felderbachstraße – in the neighbourhood of the busstops – there goes a path slanting to the left. The afterme of this path is also Felderbachstraße. Go along this path for 200 m, near to the farm you go left onto another path – Höhenweg – and after 300 m the beacon is at the LHS.
