Thorn NDB THN, 11 May 2004..

(2014) After closing down this beacon, some years ago, all parts are removed.

Thorn, the famous white village in Limburg. Easy to reach via de A2. You can see the beacon driving on the A2 – at least, if you know where it is – visible above the bushes.
Take the exit signed for Thorn at the A12. At the Napoleonsweg follow signs for Thorn. About a kilometre further on there is a road to the right onto an industrial estate. Take that road and at the end turn left. I’m not sure whether you have to turn right onto the first or the second road. Take the first one, if the beacon isn’t on the LHS of this road; turn left at the end of the road and left at the next road. Then the beacon is on the RHS as soon as you’re on this road.
This was our last beacon at the trip that started at Metz.

When you are here and have time left it’s a good opportunity to visit the village of Thorn.
