Albert - Bray NDB ABY, August 3, 2008.

On Dutch television was a series of history programs called “In Europa”. At the end of the 9 December 2007 part there was a scene filmed from a car. And at the RHS of the road there was a NDB visible.
Wim and I have been in that region in 2006, so we thought we knew al the beacons in that region. Wim searched for months and couldn’t find which beacon it was.
Then he typed all the French beacons listed in the aerad book into Excell. There after he took the French AIP list and looked for the difference. And so he found the BRY beacon.
This is a new beacon and it is heard in the Netherlands since spring 2008. It is not far from the Peronne beacon that wasn’t transmitting in 2006, but was photographed by Wim in 2007.

The route:
Take in Albert (Somme) the D938 direction East (= direction Peronne.) At the roundabout (crossing with the D929) go straight on, following the D938. After ca. 11 km the beacon is at the LHS.
