Not far from Châteauxdun along the D955 to Orleans you find an airbase. At this airbase you can find a NDB and a VOR/DME. As often is done in France, there is an embankment right behind the fence to stop persons passing by to see what’s going on at the airbase.
When programmed with the coordinates, Miss Mio did send Wim to the back of the airbase.
No NDB there. So Wim used his loop-antenna and decided to go back for a part of his route and use the loop-antenna there again.
That did the trick. He found a spot where he could see and could make photos with the real telephoto lens.
But Wim can see that there is also a road in between.
So Wim find that there is a new part of the bypass round Châteauxdun ready which is running alongside the airbase.
Then he put the car at the hard shoulder and took some better photos with a medium length lens.
And he is also seeing a possible other photo opportunity at an industrial estate
that’s located in the corner between the bypass, the D955 and the airbase.
It is the where he made the last photos.
