Barmen VOR/TACAN/DME BAM, 5 June 2008.

The information we had, stated that there should be a VOR/TACAN/DME and a NDB at the location Barmen. All we found was the VOR combination.

Route from Remscheid.
Take the A1 towards Dortmund, follow this road for about 16.5 km. Take exit 92-Wuppertal-Nord towards A46/Düsseldorf/Wuppertal. Go left (follow signs to A46/Düsseldorf/Wuppertal). Follow this road. After 1.6 km on the A46 take exit 37-Wuppertal-Oberbarmen towards W.-Oberbarmen. After 200 m turn left onto L432/Mollenkotten (signs to Barmen), stay on this road for 2.5 km. At the roundabout Nächstebreck-west take the 1st turn to Barmer Straße/L924, stay on this road for 4.4 km. In a gentle curve to the left onto Felderbachstraße – in the neighbourhood of the bus stops – there is an angled path to the left. The name of this path is also Felderbachstraße. Go along this path for 200 m, near the farm you go left onto another path – Höhenweg – and the beacon is after 300 m on the LHS.
